Meet Shelby

Shelby looks like the little girl who proudly announced, “I can dress myself!”

And apparently, nobody had the heart to tell her that most people try to match.

A little orange here, some darker stripes there, a splash of white, and a few mismatched accessories. She even remembered her little white socks!

The funny thing is, somehow, it all works.

Her face looks like she couldn’t decide between two completely different outfits, so she wore half of each. One side is warm and bright, the other darker and striped, and right in the middle sits the sweetest little pink nose.

Then there are those big blue kitten eyes. With that beautifully mismatched face, they give Shelby the kind of expression that makes you wonder whether she’s listening carefully—or quietly deciding what she’s going to get into next.

Her big triangular ears are already impossible to miss, complete with those wispy little furnishings that give her an adorably untamed Maine Coon look.

And Shelby has absolutely no idea just how cute she is.

Walking is simply too boring when you can bounce sideways, leap at absolutely nothing, and land one perfectly good little white foot right in the water bowl.

Well, there goes a sock.

Of course, the next logical step is to shake that wet foot, look mildly offended that the water was there in the first place, and carry on as though nothing happened.

There’s a whole world to discover, and Shelby apparently intends to investigate every inch of it—preferably at a gallop, with occasional unplanned landings.

Her coloring continues the “I dressed myself” theme all the way down. Warm patches, darker stripes, a white chest, striped little legs, and those precious white toes make it look as though Shelby just kept adding things until she decided her outfit was finished.

Even her darker fluffy tail seems to have received its own dress code.

Then she’ll sit down, tilt that beautifully mismatched little face, and look at you with those big blue eyes as though she’s been perfectly well-behaved all afternoon.

For now, Shelby is that adorable little girl who dressed herself, forgot to check the mirror, stepped in a puddle, and somehow still managed to be the cutest one in the room.

Some girls are born with style. Shelby just makes up her own rules.

Color & Markings

Tortoiseshell Tabby with White (Torbie with White)

Shelby’s coat combines tortoiseshell coloring with visible tabby patterning and white spotting. Her coat displays both red-based and black-based coloring, with tabby markings visible through the patterned areas and contrasting white on her muzzle, chin, chest, and paws.

Her current eye color is blue. Because kitten eye color can continue developing as she matures, Shelby is listed as having possible blue eyes rather than guaranteed permanent blue eyes.
