Meet Mia
Mia has been very patient.
She has watched kittens around her meet their people. She’s watched families get excited, kittens get chosen, and one by one, others begin the next part of their lives.
And somehow, Mia is still waiting for her people to find her.
Not because she isn’t beautiful.
One look at those brilliant blue eyes, dramatic black smoke coat, perfectly pink nose, white mittens, and that magnificent plume of a tail takes care of that argument.
And certainly not because she isn’t interested in people.
Mia is still very much a kitten herself.
She plays. She explores. She gets curious about things that are absolutely none of her business. She wants to know what you’re doing, where you’re going, and whether whatever you have might possibly involve her.
She has plenty of kitten left in her.
The difference is that we’ve had a little more time to get to know her.
And we really like the girl she’s becoming.
Mia is playful, intelligent, affectionate, curious, and wonderfully involved with her people. She doesn’t simply live alongside you. She likes to participate.
If something interesting is happening, Mia would like a closer look.
If something needs investigating, she’s available.
If you’re busy, she can supervise.
Very helpful.
And then she’ll tilt her head, look up at you with those enormous blue eyes, and somehow make herself look completely innocent.
That head tilt may be one of her greatest talents.
It certainly doesn’t hurt that she has the face for it.
Her bright blue eyes stand out beautifully against her dark coloring. A crisp white blaze travels up beside her little pink nose, while her white muzzle and chin brighten her face. The uneven dark markings around her mouth give her expression just a hint of mischief.
Then there are those four white feet.
Perfect little white mittens underneath all that black smoke—as though Mia dressed for a formal occasion and then forgot she was still a kitten.
And we need to talk about that tail.
Mia is already growing an impressive Maine Coon plume. It is long, full, dramatic, and apparently unaware that the rest of Mia is still catching up.
Add in her tall ears, developing furnishings, long whiskers, and increasingly beautiful coat, and we’re beginning to get an exciting glimpse of the Maine Coon she will become.
But she isn’t grown yet.
Mia is still a kitten waiting for all the things kittens are supposed to get to do with their families.
She’s waiting for her favorite lap.
Her favorite place on the couch.
Her person to follow from room to room.
Her toys scattered across somebody else’s floor.
Her family to learn all the little things about her that we already know—and all the things about her that haven’t happened yet.
She’s watched other kittens find their people.
Now we’d really love for Mia to have that moment too.
For someone to look through all the kittens, stop on that tilted little head and those blue eyes, and realize—
there you are.
And for once, when someone comes to meet a kitten,
they came for Mia.
Her Color & Markings
Black Smoke with White
Mia’s professional color classification is black smoke with white.
Her coat has a dark black outer appearance with a pale silver-white base to the hairs underneath. When her coat moves or parts, that lighter undercoat becomes visible, creating the beautiful smoky effect that gives this color its name.
Mia’s white markings create a dramatic tuxedo appearance against her black smoke coat. She has a bright white chest and bib, white muzzle and chin, a distinctive white facial blaze, and four crisp white feet.
Her little pink nose sits right in the middle of all that contrast, while the asymmetrical dark markings around her muzzle make her face unmistakably hers.
Mia’s eyes are blue, and against her black-and-white face they are especially striking.
As her Maine Coon coat continues developing, we’re already seeing more of her smoke undercoat, longer furnishings, and that increasingly impressive plume of a tail.
Temperament Starts at Home
At Ribbons and Bows Maine Coons, we believe temperament is one of the most important parts of raising a Maine Coon well.
Mia has been raised underfoot in our home in Warsaw, Missouri, and around our daily business, where she is part of everyday life.
Because we’ve had more time with Mia, we also know more about her personality than we can know about our youngest kittens. Her future family gets the benefit of meeting a playful, curious, affectionate kitten whose individual personality is already beginning to shine.
That close, hands-on start helps prepare Mia to transition confidently into her new family.
